Bloody Mary Cocktail Lounge
Last night I decided to treat myself after a hectic day of work. I had heard about the Bloody Mary Cocktail Bar through word of mouth and decided to give it a try. Based on the name, it is pretty obvious that their speciality is Bloody Mary’s. They also have a wide variety of gin and tonic combos and other speciality cocktails.
When we first got there around 8 pm it was dead, we were the only ones there, and I was a little worried. Then I realised that it was only 8 pm and we were just early.
If you love cocktail bars that are dimly lit, with a vast combination of sultry, upbeat, jazzy and old school music, then this place is for you. Besides the dimmed romantic lighting, the whole atmosphere is very relaxing and friendly. My favourite part of the whole decor was there was a post in the middle of the bar covered in old newspaper clippings adding texture to the already dynamic environment.
I went with two friends, and we each had two drinks. We tried, the El Ahumadito; a smokey, spicy, Bloody Mary; Tia Teresita a rum infused with pineapple and citrus; The Gentleman, top shelf whisky and orange bitters; Alice In Wonderland; vodka cocktail, citrusy, light and airy; and Domenech; strawberry, citrus, basil and vodka. All of the ones we tried were delicious, and I would recommend them to anyone. The drinks were strong which was what I was looking for. And the Bartended was very pleasant, treated us like royalty, and we ended the night with a round of shots including our new friend the bartender. 10/10 would go again. Check out Bloody Mary on Facebook or head over to their website.
